Dr. Jaehan Kim, a Senior Scientist in the Mills Lab, came to Davis from Korea to pursue his PhD in Food Science. At that time met his wife, Dr. Hyun Ju An, who was pursuing a PhD in Chemistry. Several years later, they have two children and are both Senior Scientists; Dr. Kim in the Mills Lab, and Dr. An in the Lebrilla Lab. Dr. Kim recently published a paper in the prestigious journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America.
Recently Professor Juan F. Medrano was interviewed about his team's exciting RNA-Seq milk cell transcriptome project. He and his team at the Department of Animal Science are working to improve oligosaccharides in bovine milk.
The 7th annual IMGC symposium featured panel discussion, individual paper presentations and poster sessions focused on issues regarding milk lactation, mammary gland regulation and development, and the effects of milk on infant development.
