Bio

Dr. Jay V. Solnick is a Professor of Medicine and of Microbiology & Immunology, and a Staff Scientist at the California National Primate Research Center. He is an infectious diseases clinician, and specializes in the treatment of a broad range of infectious diseases. His laboratory at the Center for Comparative Medicine uses the rhesus macaque and mouse models to understand the pathogenesis of Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium that commonly infects the stomach where it may cause peptic ulcer disease or gastric adenocarcinoma.
