Dr. Schaefer is the Associate Director of Children's Health at the Foods for Health Institute. Her research innovates integrative and interdisciplinary efforts that engage people in precision health and nutrition. Her work emphasizes the use of emerging technologies like wearable devices, virtual games and other interactive tools to deliver personalized and actionable health education to young people. She has a PhD in Nutritional Biology at UC Davis and has worked in culturally diverse communities around the globe to improve issues affecting children’s health.
