Project #getup: Creating a Health Video Game

Video game kidFFHI researchers have teamed with top gaming industry talent to create a video game that engages and inspires students in personal health achievements. Project #getup is funded by the National Science Foundation to design and test a health oriented game for youth that syncs with fitness tracking. Students use FitBits to collect real life physical activity data that feeds into a virtual game experience. Researchers are working to understand how students’ game-based learning might influence ‘real’ health behaviors. We enjoy partnerships with FitBit and Small Steps Labs.
